Among other things paintings inspire me with color, composition and tone, these and other elements are common to both painting, gardens and landscape design. Each can and has informed the other. Above paintings by Joan Mitchell.

Most of my work is based in New England and I take from the rich history of the region. The vernacular of New England is not just the parlance there are many wonderful materials and methods of construction native to this region.
